So we’ve noticed that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was selling fairly well on Steam, topping the recent charts before being knocked out of the running just this week. The latest from Bethesda had held off other worthy contenders, but we didn’t know just how successful it had really been.




Now though, Valve Director of business Development, Jason Holtman, has let the cat out of the bag – without revealing any actual figures.

Skyrim is the fastest selling title in Steam’s history.

Bethesda’s commitment to and understanding of the PC as a gaming platform shows in the great review scores, spectacular launch, and continued high player numbers that Skyrim has received. We are delighted that Bethesda chose to use Steamworks to support Skyrim both at retail and digitally.

But of course the game didn’t just launch on Valve‘s digital distribution platform – it also hit the other major consoles at the same time – and Skyrim‘s not doing too badly over there either, with Bethesda updating its shipment total for the game: 10 million units since launch on 11/11/11.
