Next-Gen PlayStation And Xbox Headed For E3 2012 Showdown - Report

PS3 and Xbox 360 successors rumoured to take their place alongside Wii U this summer.

 

 



The entire next-generation of home consoles will attend this year's E3 according to a report today, which claims that Microsoft and Sony will both unveil their next hardware platform during the LA games show.

If true, it would mark a historic moment in E3's history with three new home formats competing for attantion at the show for the first time since it debuted in 1995.

Rumours abound about the next Xbox, with an E3 2012 reveal fitting with speculation that the console could arrive in 2013.

Sony has given away very little about its next-gen PlayStation plans, but is said to want to avoid a similar situation to that which saw the PS3 launch behind the Wii and Xbox 360.

Nintendo fronts the pack with the Wii U, first shown at last year's E3, and set for a final reveal at this year's show ahead of a launch later in 2012.
